Consult is also the place to send software
installation requests for Socrates.
Please send questions about the Calmail email service for Socrates to

Please send only Socrates-specific questions to
consult at socrates.
Contact consult at socrates for questions on Socrates backups or requests for file restoration.
Backups are done nightly. If you remove something accidentally, the most recent
copy from the night before can be restored.

- Email accounts for questions concerning administrative functions including
billing, rates, new accounts, password and login changes. All other Socrates
account related inquiries can be sent to socrates_consult@berkeley.edu

connecting@berkeley.edu- Connecting@Berkeley (C@B) is a service provided for UC Berkeley faculty and
staff (active and retired) with PC and Macintosh home machines or workstations.
If you have
trouble using the software provided on the C@B CD on your PC or Macintosh computer,
you can contact connecting@berkeley consulting for assistance. This includes
questions concerning connecting to the campus network, Berkeley's dial-up internet
service, internet configuration, and using Eudora. You may also leave a message at: 642-8899
calweb_consult@berkeley.edu - Questions regarding World Wide Web services on Socrates should be sent to
CalWeb Consulting. This includes questions about setting up personal web pages,
dedicated port servers, and requests for web-related software installation.
